Prior to AnnexPark Capital Stephen was an early investor and operating partner with the Outland group. Outland was a private, closely held, corporation with divisions across Canada’s north. Lines of business included camp and catering operations for remote construction projects, commercial reforestation, nurseries, , industrial vegetation management, First Nations training programs and remote forest fire fighting. Sectors served included forestry, mining, utilities, and government. Outland’s geographic footprint included Nunavut and the northern regions of Quebec, Labrador, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, and British Colombia.

Stephen began his career at Outland in 1992 planting trees for 7 cents/seedling. Over the course of 24 years Steve worked in, managed, and oversaw all aspects of Outland’s operations. In that time Outland grew from a small, seasonal, business to be one of Canada’s largest remote services companies with revenues of well over 200 Million. As a senior partner and equity holder Steve exited the business when Outland was sold to Carillion, a UK based construction and services firm. Outland was subsequently acquired by Fairfax.

Stephen is currently volunteering as an Executive in Residence at the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario
