Alan has 26 years of experience as an entrepreneur and investor building and scaling private companies.
AnnexPark Capital
Alan co-founded AnnexPark Capital with Stephen Luengo in 2019 to invest in and grow a portfolio of leading private Canadian small and mid-sized companies. Based in Toronto and founded on the guiding principles of trust and integrity, AnnexPark invests Alan and Stephen’s own capital and takes a long-term ownership approach. The firm drives growth and scale by implementing technology, advancing operational excellence through KPIs and automation, developing sales and operating strategies and building high-functioning teams. The current portfolio includes six operating companies across building product manufacturing and distribution, health care and industrial real estate development.
TorQuest Partners
Prior to founding AnnexPark, Alan spent nearly 17 years at TorQuest Partners, joining as one of the original members of the investment team and serving as the youngest partner in the firm’s history. TorQuest is one of Canada’s largest and most established private equity funds, with industry-leading returns in the mid-market and a brand built on being a trusted partner to family owners, founders, and management teams. During Alan’s tenure, the firm deployed over $2 billion of equity capital across 25 platform investments and numerous add-on acquisitions. Alan worked across multiple industries, with particular depth in business services, financial services, and manufacturing and distribution.
Alan has extensive governance experience, including board chair or director positions at Polycor, Universal Rail, SCM Insurance Services, 4Refuel, Granby Industries, and the Canadian Venture Capital Association.
Earlier in his career, Alan was with Credit Suisse First Boston and, before that, FirstEnergy in Calgary. He holds an Honours B.A. from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
